Turn Up Tuesdays Vol. 18: House Heaven

Since I shamefully dropped the ball on uploading a new playlist last week, I spent a lot of time carefully picking this week’s tracks — and I included a couple more than usual!

It starts off with deep house vibes, moves into more progressive beats, and ends with a trap bang. Personal favorite from this week is the new track from prolific Swedish DJ, Jeremy Olander. If you aren’t familiar with him, I suggest listening to his Group Therapy Radio Guest Mix from last year. It’s only 30-minutes long, but you can get a strong sense of his unique sound. He’s gaining a following in the U.S. now, so hopefully if we close our eyes and wish really, really hard he’ll appear in DC for an extended set sometime in the not-so-distant future.

Get at this week’s playlist, right here:

If you’re as into trap as I am, you should also check out Flosstradamus’ “Soundclash EP,” released over the weekend:

Turn Up Tuesdays Vol. 17: Happy Remixes Are Good for the Soul

Coming back to DC was rough after spending two days in paradise visiting my family in Miami. My mom did everything she could to make me feel like I was truly on vacation. Dinner under the stars at a new hot spot on Friday night, lunch at the Ritz on South Beach after soaking up some sun, and, of course, home-cooked meals from my favorite mama chef.

Though it was rough getting on that 7 a.m. flight on Monday, my mini vacation has me feeling re-energized and very excited about the next few months, especially when it comes to music! Festival season officially kicked off with Ultra and I can’t wait to see which smaller bands and DJs make their way to DC for some fun summer shows.

This week’s playlist is filled with dance-friendly beats. One of my favorite trap artists right now, UZ, released his most recent track from the “Trap Shit” series, a surprisingly mellow offering with a sexy little drop, and it’s one of my favorites from the past week. This compilation also features new remixes from Tchami, Daktyl, KSHMR, and Viceroy, among others. Of course, we all knew it wouldn’t take long for Rihanna’s new track to get the remix treatment! This Krs. remix of “BBHMM” is my favorite so far.

Happy Tuesday!
